THERAPEUTIC TECHNOLOGY IN DEVELOPMENT

NeoBoost

Photonic biostimulation for the neonatal respiratory challenge.

A technology in development exploring the controlled application of near-infrared light to stimulate the newborn’s own pulmonary mechanisms.

Conceptual representation of the technology in development. The illustrated elements and values are not final specifications.

THE CHALLENGE

When the lungs are not yet ready to breathe.

Neonatal respiratory distress syndrome is strongly associated with prematurity and a deficiency of pulmonary surfactant, a substance that helps keep the alveoli open during breathing.

A NEW APPROACH UNDER INVESTIGATION

Stimulating the newborn’s own pulmonary mechanisms.

NeoBoost investigates photonic biostimulation with NIR light to stimulate endogenous surfactant production and modulate pulmonary inflammatory processes.
